Named after the Piave River, Piave Cheese is a stunning Italian cheese originated in the Belluno Region. It is DOP protected, as it is the only authentic Piave cheese produced in the Belluno. This cheese is also known as Parmesan’s Cousine because it has a similar flavour as Parmesan cheese.
Aging for more than 20 days makes the texture dense and the color light. Its surface is covered with a soft rind that should be removed before eating. Its sweet and delicate flavor makes it perfect to pair with full-bodied red wines such as Amarone and Barolo.
Similar in texture and appearance to fresh Parmigiano Reggiano, this cheese offers fruity notes with a bright, buttery finish. If you want to enhance the flavor of your dish, try using Piave cheese. It is perfect for adding to salads or anything else you can think of.
It will also do wonder on your cheese board and make your snack more delicious.
