Pasta di mandorla is the soft almond pastry of Sicily: a tender, chewy center under a thin crust cracked in the oven and dusted with powdered sugar. These come from Dolciaria La Fenice, a pastry maker in Reitano, in the province of Messina, and are made with 40% almonds and natural orange flavor with orange peel (3%).
Serve them with espresso, with tea in the afternoon or with a glass of sweet dessert wine at the end of a meal. The tray holds 8 pastries.
