Provola cheese is one of the classic Calabrian cheeses and is undoubtedly one of the best known cheeses in the world, since it is probably one of the most widely used and appreciated cheeses thanks to its exceptional flavor and attributes.
Quality
This Calabrian Provola, made by Salumificio Monteporo in Spilinga, comes from carefully selected cheese makers who farm their animals and agricultural land following certified production processes. The cow's milk is pasteurized at 72°C (162°F); the cheese is floated briefly in a brine solution (approx. 3 days) and is made with no preservatives.
Alto Gusto
The pasta filata (spun paste) Calabrian Provola has a thin, homogeneous, smooth rind which is bright yellow. Inside the paste is quite homogeneous and solid. This cheese is perfect served as an appetizer or a starter.
