Saffron threads of Zafferano dell'Aquila PDO, grown on the Navelli plateau in Abruzzo and produced by the Cooperativa Altopiano di Navelli, the cooperative of nearly one hundred growers founded in Civitaretenga by Silvio Salvatore Sarra.
The saffron comes from the red stigmas of the Crocus sativus flower, picked by hand in the early morning before the flowers open, separated by hand and toasted over almond or oak wood embers in the traditional way, then packed whole. Its ruby red color, intense yet delicate aroma and unmistakable taste enhance dishes without covering their flavors.
For a classic saffron risotto, allow about 10 threads per person. Steep the threads in half a cup of hot water for at least 4 hours (the longer, the better), then stir the infusion into the risotto just before it is ready. The same infusion can be used in fish soups, fresh pasta, breads and desserts.

The Zafferano dell'Aquila saffron had amazing, rich flavor. I’ve tried less expensive saffrons and they do not compare. It’s worth the expense.
Just a few threads in a quart of water produces an awesome flavorful and refreshing beverage! I highly recommend trying this for yourself! You will be very pleased!

These crunchy and light Italian cookies are unusual in texture, which makes them out-of-the-ordinary. They are also heavily flavored, one person in my family thought it was cherry, the name refers to almond flavor, but they are in fact made from apricot pits.
I loved the tin container that they come in and the fact that each is individually wrapped in plastic and then a decorative paper wrapping. It makes each little cookie something to focus on.
Delicious balsamic vinegar in a very adorable fun cheerful ceramic container.
I did not know what to expect, but the oranges were fresh (they have the leaves on), packed well and arrived quickly after the date they said they would ship. The biggest surprise was how delicious they were - each orange was sweet with a tinge of sour.

It’s not _exactly_ like gin, but is very good and very enjoyable in its own way. Subbing this for gin makes a different cocktail, but very similar, like eating a familiar food but made in a different country.

The nduja is very good but way to expensive to get shipped so I won't be purchasing that again.
The Limone Di Sicilia is a wonderfully created dessert which will work by itself or in combination with other sweets - ice cream comes to mind. That said, adding more crema al liming to the cake would be GREAT.
I’ve used it just on artisan bread with aged provolone, sweet soppressata & arugula—amazing.
I also made Linguine with EVOO, Garlic & Parmagiano Reggiano—superb
