Pol Roger Blanc de Blancs Vintage
the Brut Blanc de Blancs is excellent, delivering a complex bouquet of warm pastry, dried white flowers, lemon oil and some smoky, gently reductive top notes. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a rich but precise core of fruit that reveals all the concentration of the vintage but is elegantly rendered, underpinned by tangy acids and concluding with a precise, chalky finish.

In the mouth the attack is frank. The Champagne has structure, balance, roundness and a slight vinosity. A fresh wine that is both balanced and complex.
Perrier Jouët Blason Rosé
The Champagne House Perrier Jouët Blason Rosé brilliantly combines all the qualities of a great wine from the Champagne Region, that is to say, finesse, freshness, roundness and sweetness. Indeed, it is composed of 50% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Meunier. On the nose, a fruity intensity prevails and one can detect pomegranate, red berry and blood orange notes in this delicate aromatic complexity. It is rich, long and broad, with a complex and persistent finish.
Perrier Jouët Belle Epoque
Made with the best Grand Cru Chardonnay grapes selected from the 65 hectares the Maison owns, this is the rarest and most expensive Champagne in the whole Perrier-Jouët line of production. The harvest was an abundant one but will be remembered for being one of the best for Champagne. The winter frosts did not compromise the yield and, in fact, protected the slow ripening that began during a cool June and continued through a relatively warm and fair summer to September. The bouquet has notes of white melon and kumquat, frangipane and hawthorn flowers, almond paste and white chocolate with a hint of oyster and saffron. This winning complexity amplifies with breathing. The mouthfeel is lithe and lively with a concentrated salinity, where notes of crunchy apple and linden honey chase each other in a complete and harmonious lively dynamic. The wrapping finish has a joyous and juicy persistence of pineapple and gingerbread, with an aftertaste if iodine many minutes later.

Surprising and delicate notes of red berries, underlined by a meticulous addition of a rosé dosage, blend into the rest. On the palate, this champagne is round and broad, and the richness of its surprisingly fruity flavours is expressed. Krug Clos du Mesnil 2002
Krug's beautifully citrus colored 2002 Blanc de Blancs Brut Clos du Mesnil shows a deep, complex, very clear and precise if not etherial bouquet with citrus aromas intertwined with chalk and noble brioche notes in the background. Pure, profound and vibrantly fresh on the palate, this is a straight, athletic, very intense and expressive yet highly elegant and finessed Clos du Mesnil with a unique fresh fruit character! The 2002 reveals a great mineral structure and chalky texture on the palate. The highly complex, energetic finish reveals bracing freshness and vitality as well as the charm and creaminess from the vinification in barrels and possibly the dosage wine that seems to boost the Krug style. While terroir wine is the result of hands-off winemaking, Krug's Clos du Mesnil is perhaps a very particular Krug Champagneùit has great quality, style and complexity that is the result of the winemaking and the addition of the dosage wine. How the Clos du Mesnil would taste if farmed biodynamically, picked later and dosed with nothing but itself is a pointless question, but it hasn't left my mind since I tasted the paradoxical 2002, which is terribly fresh on one hand and also has this unique Krug reserve style. Notabene: This doesn't include the hypothesis that the wine could be any better. It would just be different and surely less Krug, which is not what we really want, do we?
Gosset Brut Excellence
The Gosset Brut Excellence is an assemblage of Pinot Noir (45%), Chardonnay (30%) and Pinot Meunier (25%), Chigny-les-Roses, Courmas and Cumières. Pure and fresh on the nose, with bright, partly dried fruit aromas, this citrus-colored fizz is light, elegant and fresh but well structured, in short: a terrific effort at this level and a delicious aperitif.
