Dolceterra puts the real Genovese pesto on your table, made according to the antique Ligurian tradition.
To make this famous sauce, Calvi uses the best ingredients from the region: delicious Genovese Basil DOP, high-quality, cold pressed extra virgin olive oil, Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, Pecorino Romano DOP, crispy pine nuts, garlic and a bit of salt.
Fresh with an intense aroma, this pesto is perfect on traditional trofie, gnocchi and trenette.

Pesto al Basilico Genovese DOP is an uncooked sauce — its soul is the fragrance of fresh basil, and heat destroys it.
To dress pasta:
• Cook your pasta al dente in well-salted water
• Drain, keeping a ladle of pasta water
• Off the heat, in a warm bowl, add 1–2 tablespoons of pesto per portion
• Stir gently with a splash of pasta water to loosen the emulsion
• Serve immediately
The classic Ligurian preparation: cook trofie or trenette together with sliced green beans and cubed potatoes, then dress all together with the pesto off the heat.
After opening, keep refrigerated at 32–39 °F (0–4 °C) and consume within 5 days. Cover the surface with a thin layer of olive oil to preserve the color.
Ingredients: Extra virgin olive oil, pine nuts 24%, Genovese basil PDO 24%, sunflower oil, salt, Parmigiano Reggiano PDO cheese (cow's milk, salt, rennet), Pecorino Romano PDO cheese (sheep's milk, salt, rennet), garlic, ascorbic acid (antioxidant), citric acid (acidity regulator).
Contains: milk, tree nuts (pine nuts).
May contain fish, soy, cashews and other tree nuts.
