Made from cow’s milk, it acquires a round shape while hand working the curd. Sicilian Provolone with Pistachio is tied at the neck to form a small round head that gives it its unique shape. It is aromatic, nutritious, delicious and tastes like fresh milk.

Sicilian Provolone with Pistachio can be eaten alone or paired with rustic appetizers. You can also enjoy it with favourite recipes and dishes. It can also be used as filling for eggplant rolls and stuffed tomatoes. It is also delicious when melted over pasta or thick toast.

Provola from Alcantara Formaggi (Azienda Casearia Camuglia) in Castiglione di Sicilia, in the Alcantara valley at the foot of Mount Etna. A pasta filata cheese of cow's milk from eastern Sicily, coagulated with lamb rennet: the curd ripens at least 24 hours, then is stretched and shaped entirely by hand with pistachios worked into the paste.

Ingredients: Cow's milk, lamb rennet, salt, pistachios (2–3%).

Sicilian Provolone with Pistachio

Delicious cheese

The order was processed on a Monday and delivered in Denver, CO that Thursday morning which was much faster than expected. Packaging was remarkably good. The ice packs were still cold. I opened the cheese with pear and arrival and it's delicious. Looking forward to the other things in the order especially the Ribollita which was one of my favorite things when I lived in Italy and can't get here. Nice that the business is close to where I lived there. Definitely will be ordering again.

Mild Taste

We received our 2 provolone/pistachio halves a few weeks ago. We were concerned as the ice pack was thawed even though it was winter but we live in a climate that yo-yo’s frequently.

That said the pistachio flavor is not discernible. Since the cheese is a soft provolone it also naturally has a very, very mild flavor. I also ordered pistachio hard salami from another domestic (USA) provider, it too has no flavor enhancement.

Only reason we did not give “5 stars”.

Pistachio seems only able to convey its essence in gelato ideally!

The only words I can say, Amazing!!
If someone has never tried this they absolutely need to go all out and try it. You couldn’t be disappointed. The flavor is out of this world and I’m so glad I took a chance. I will definitely be back for more. I was also very pleased how quickly it showed up straight from Italy to the U.S.

An out-of-the-ordinary treat

These crunchy and light Italian cookies are unusual in texture, which makes them out-of-the-ordinary. They are also heavily flavored, one person in my family thought it was cherry, the name refers to almond flavor, but they are in fact made from apricot pits.

I loved the tin container that they come in and the fact that each is individually wrapped in plastic and then a decorative paper wrapping. It makes each little cookie something to focus on.

Sicilian Orange IGP

I did not know what to expect, but the oranges were fresh (they have the leaves on), packed well and arrived quickly after the date they said they would ship. The biggest surprise was how delicious they were - each orange was sweet with a tinge of sour.
